Water Street, the main walking path on the waterfront, is actually part of the larger San Francisco Bay Trail, the 500-mile multi-use walking and biking path that completely encircles the San Francisco Bay and its tributaries. The large building on the north side of the Marina Lawn is Jack London Market, a small mall with plenty of restaurants and shopping options. These days, the Marina is Oakland’s only mixed-use waterfront area.
